March 15–21, Flachau / Shuttleberg The 2026 AbsolutPark Spring Battle reached its peak with a spectacular award show livestreamed from the Dips&Drops in Flachau. Mia Brookes (GBR) claimed first place in Slopestyle following her Rail Jam victory, while American rider Justus Henkes delivered one of the best Slopestyle runs ever to take the men’s win. The same course will host the FIS Snowboard World Cup Flachau finals on Saturday.

The idea of merging the independent snowboard scene with the FIS World Cup caused a stir last year and worked extremely well. With a $80,000 cash prize for the Spring Battle and an additional €70,000 for the World Cup, plus double WSPL points, it is a very lucrative week for the riders.

The 120 riders started the week with the Spring Battle, facing variable weather conditions ranging from deep winter snow to sunshine on soft snow. This demanded strategic riding, with perfect runs needed at the right moments. The start area resembled an air traffic control tower, coordinating the three FPV drones for follow-cam shots.

After winning the Spring Battle Rail Jam on Tuesday, Mia Brookes (GBR) delivered another outstanding run on the Slopestyle course. With flawless style on the rails and a Backside 1260 and Cab 1080 over the jumps, she took the victory convincingly. The 16-year-old Lily Dhawornvej, regarded as the USA’s top young talent, had already secured second place at the Laax World Cup event in January and repeated the feat at the Spring Battle. Third place went to Melissa Peperkamp from the Netherlands.

The audience also awarded the “FLYP Most Picked Athlete” to Mia Brookes. With her lead after qualification, she enters the World Cup final on Saturday with strong chances for a perfect week at AbsolutPark. “This week has been going really well for me. I had already calculated good chances in Slopestyle. I’ll of course give my best in the World Cup too and try to win. I’m definitely having a great time here at AbsolutPark.

The US team celebrated loudly at the award show when Judd Henkes was honored for his first-place run in the Spring Battle Slopestyle. His brilliant trick combination, performing all rails switch—including a Switch BS 450 over the Rainbow Rail—plus a hardway BS 1080 and Nosebutter Frontside 1260 on the jumps, proved unbeatable. “I have been coming to Spring Battle for over 6 years and it’s always a great event. To win here feels super good. I hope I can pull off this run again in the World Cup.”

Second and third places went to New Zealander Rocco Jamieson, narrowly ahead of Niek van der Velden from the Netherlands.

Spring Battle Rail Jam Results

The Rail Jam took place at the Chill House at the start of the week. Rated at the WSPL Elite Level, this rail competition was held as a live event for the first time and streamed globally on YouTube.

Austrian rider Moritz Amsüss claimed victory with highly creative tricks, including a Front 180 to Switch 5-0 to Switch Back 180 Out, taking home $5,500. Canadians Francis Jobin and Americans Liam Johnson completed the men’s podium. Mia Brookes kicked off her week perfectly with her Rail Jam win. Her BS Boardslide Pretzel Out on the double-kink rail secured victory over Katja Dutu (NED) and Meila Stalker (AUS).

FIS Snowboard World Cup Takes Over

With the Spring Battle concluded, the AbsolutPark event week transitioned seamlessly into the FIS Snowboard World Cup Flachau. On the same course, women’s qualification runs took place on Thursday, followed by men’s on Friday.

Mia Brookes dominated the women’s qualification, leading ahead of American riders Jessica Perlmutter and Rebecca Flynn. In the men’s field, Valentino Guseli (ITA) and Alex Lotorto (SUI) secured pole positions as heat winners.
