BIG AIR CHUR opens the freestyle winter season
160 riders, 9 live acts, 15 afterparty DJs
For the third time in a row, BIG AIR CHUR will ring in the winter with the FIS Freeski & Snowboard World Cup in the discipline Big Air. The intercity event will attract freestyle professionals from all over the world for which thousands of festival fans will make the trek to Chur, Graubünden, on 20/21 October 2023. The music and sporting line-up promises a brilliant start to the new World Cup season.
Headed by the BIG AIR CHUR Champions 2022 in freeskiing, Tess Ledeux and Birk Ruud, and in snowboarding, Reira Iwabuchi and Takeru Otsuka, the entire previous year’s podium is on the start list. This includes Olympic champions Mathilde Gremaud and Anna Gasser, as well as youngsters Nick Pünter and Troy Podmilsak. 150 freestylers will challenge them at the highly endowed World Cup on Swiss terrain. Snowboarder Valentino Guseli and freeski ace Andri Ragettli are considered hot contenders for victory.

Generally speaking, no one from the World Cup circuit wants to miss the BIG AIR CHUR because even for well-travelled, experienced pros, the season opener in Graubünden's capital is something special: a spacious area with stands and a skate park, where the take-off tower looms at a height of 50 metres, followed by the kicker for the flights of trickery, with thousands of people below enthusiastically cheering them on, and hip live bands rocking out together. To miss it would be a crime, what a brilliant atmosphere!
BIG AIR CHUR is the festival for all action, sports and music fans. Tickets are available online at bigairfestival.com.
