A Deeper Swallowtail For Deeper Turns

KORUA Shapes introduces the Stork, the newest addition to its Classic Collection. Designed around the philosophy of Flow Over Force, the Stork offers a different approach to turning, combining an elongated outline, softer flex, and deep swallowtail to create a smooth, composed riding experience across a variety of terrain and snow conditions.

Built to be ridden considerably longer than a traditional snowboard, the Stork encourages

drawn-out, connected turns and a natural rhythm from edge to edge. Its tapered outline and deep swallowtail provide effortless float in powder, while the extended effective edge and

balanced flex allow riders to carry that same flowing style onto groomed terrain.

Positioned as a mid-length option within the KORUA quiver, the Stork is intended for riders who appreciate subtle movements, smooth transitions, and the feeling of working with the mountain rather than against it.

Shape & Construction

While its overall character is relaxed and fluid, the Stork incorporates several

performance-focused construction elements that provide stability, control, and responsiveness. A lightweight Poplar/Paulownia mixed core reinforced with bamboo stringers creates a lively and

responsive foundation. Bionic Carbon Beams provide additional response and precise control,

while a strategically placed carbon weave between the bindings increases torsional stiffness and stability without compromising the shape's forgiving riding character.

The Stork also features KORUA's FLOAT CAMBER profile, which transitions into rocker through the nose to improve float and facilitate smooth turn initiation. A premium sintered base and ultralight brushed polyamide topsheet complete the construction.

Sizing & Riding Style

Unlike traditional snowboard shapes, the Stork is designed to be ridden significantly longer than a rider's usual board length. KORUA recommends sizing up by at least 10 cm to experience its intended riding characteristics.

The additional length works together with the board's softer flex, tapered outline, and deep

swallowtail to create long, fluid turns with smooth transitions between edges.

Rather than emphasizing aggressive, high-energy riding, the Stork rewards a more measured approach, where subtle inputs translate into controlled, flowing movements throughout the entire board.
