ZILLERTA VÄLLEY RÄLLEY – FINALS HINTERTUX –

Billabong presents: Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards  2017/2018 Great final at Hintertux  Glacier in Tux-Finkenberg: 28th-29th April 2018

A vast number of snowboarders from all over Europe gathered at the Betterpark Hintertux on Hintertux Glacier on April 28th and 29th, 2018 to hold the great final of the infamous Billabong presents: Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards 2017/2018. The last event of Austria´s most popular snowboard amateur series was all about the overall win and crowning of the new Royal Zillertal Välley Rälley Family 2018. Around 100 riders showed up for the grand Billabong presents: Zillertal Välley Rälley hosted by Ride Snowboards Finals in Tux-Finkenberg to rake in more Välley Rälley overall points beside the last stage victory. The fourth and last event of the popular snowboard amateur series was finally all about the the crown. On the contest dÄy, snowboarders of all categories  took it with changing winds and visibility to impress the judges and  spectators at Betterpark Hintertux.

It was Patrick Cinca from Germany who succeeded to handle the conditions the best. He earned the Billabong Best Trick Award with his stylish Switch Backside 900 and took the gold medal in the men´s contest. Katharina Kasper, also from Germany, took the top spot on the women´s podium. while Czech high flyer Ladislav Hrstka and Germany´s Annika Morgan were the winners of the rookie contest. Both Evy Poppe (BEL) and Gabe Adams (GBR) won the groms class and claimed overall victory with the last result from Hintertux. It was Amber Fennell from Team GBR, who took another gold medal in the Super Grom Girls category and became Queen of the Välley 2018.  Her team buddy Lenny Fenning did not only dominate the Super Grom Boys class, he also took home the „Most impressive Grom of the dÄy“ Award. In the end it was his countryman Charlie Lane, who won the crown as Super Groms overall tour winner.

For their overall victory, the freshly crowned Kings and Queens of the Välley finally got rewarded the new Royal Zillertal Välley Rälley Family. The titles came along with loads of honor, fame and trophy money. The new Kings and Queens 2018 are:

Men & Women: Kings: 1. Felix Widnig (AUT) & 2. Pau Bardaji (ESP) Queen: Anna Lora (AUT)

Rookies: King:  Roman Zanka (CZE) Queen: Luca-Mai Lane Hopkins (GBR)

Groms: King: Gabe Adams (GBR) Queen: Evy Poppe (BEL)

Super Groms: King: Charlie Lane (GBR) Queen: Amber Fennell (GBR)

Sunday´s coaching dÄy was the mellow and perfect conclusion of another exciting Zillertal Välley Rälley season. Cloudy skies could not keep the riders from having fun shredding the Betterpark Hintertux and the entire resort of Hintertux Glacier together. One last time, Ride Snowboards provided goodies for all riders at the very last Limbo Ride session and  Tux-Finkenberg Tourism offered free soup and drinks for everyone to end  the weekend properly.

Simone Krause from the department at Hintertuxer Gletscher is delighted about the successful tour finals: „It was a great pleasure to host the Zillertal Välley Rälley finals at the Betterpark Hintertux. Despite challenging weather conditions, the event turned out to be a full success. We finally witnessed many happy Kings and Queens of the Välley 2018.“
